StreetGames

StreetGames harnesses the power of sport to create positive change in the lives of disadvantaged young people right across the UK. StreetGames' work helps to make young people and their communities healthier, safer and more successful.

What are the main aims of StreetGames?

The StreetGames mission is to mobilise the power of sport and physical activity to improve the lives of all disadvantaged children and young people in Wales and the communities they live in.

How does StreetGames’ work help Sport Wales to achieve an Active Nation?

Sport Wales want EVERYONE in Wales to benefit from and enjoy participating in sport. StreetGames’ work helps us to achieve this by addressing the high-level of inequalities between the poorest and more affluent.

They support locally trusted community organisations who work with disadvantaged children and and with young people and their families who live in areas of deprivation across Wales. All the Local Authorities across Wales have an established relationship with StreetGames to enable them to work in those ‘hard to reach’ areas.

How can StreetGames support the wider network of partners in our united Vision for Sport?

Other organisations can be supported by StreetGames by allowing them access to their network of locally trusted organisations who have reach into communities and deprived areas.

StreetGames’ award-winning training academy and pool of expert tutors that can deliver bespoke and “off the shelf” training workshops and qualifications for organisations and partners. Many of these training courses can now also be delivered online. Training ranges from practical Activator workshops, to theory based sessions around mental health and behaviour change, to sport and health qualifications.
