Already inspired the next generation, fellow Welsh compatriot, Lauren Williams says Jade is her inspiration for getting into taekwondo and will also join her in the Team GB squad for Tokyo 2020.

What club did Jade start taekwondo at?

After a young and mischievous child, Jade was caught smoking at the age of 10. This prompted her grandad to push her towards taekwondo so she could learn to defend herself. A taster session at her first club, Flint TAGB, with coach Martin Williams got her hooked on taekwondo and she hasn’t looked back since.

One thing you didn’t know about Jade Jones

Jade quite openly admits – ‘I kick people in the head for a living and I love it.’ This may have something to do with why she’s been donned with the nickname, ‘The Headhunter.’ With a kick to the head worth three times a kick to the body, Jade targets headshots over bodyshots.
