The year’s postponement means Ethan will be able to make his Olympic debut earlier than expected. Having clinched junior World Record times in the 3km individual pursuit and represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games as a 17 year old, Ethan has a bright future ahead of him – starting this summer at Tokyo 2020.

Riding in the Men’s Team Pursuit team, there will be expectation on his young shoulders as Team GB have secured the Gold medal in the past three Games. Ethan will be following in the footsteps of fellow Welshmen. Geraint Thomas was part of the teams that won at Beijing 2008 and London 2012 while Owain Doull became an Olympic champion with the quartet at Rio 2016.

What club did Ethan start cycling at?

When Ethan first started cycling on the road at the age of 14, it was with Corley Cycles – a local bike shop which doubled up as a club.

Ethan was pedalling from just 4 years old. Although it wasn’t a road or track bike, but a BMX. He became a National Champion and European Number 2 before making the switch to road and track.
