Our sports medicine doctors are experts in the management of general illness as well as the medical aspects of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation and performance.

They are all trained in diagnostic ultrasound imaging. Working closely with our Physiotherapists and wider multidisciplinary team, they aim to optimise the management of injuries and put into place strategies to improve performance while minimising injury risk. The health and wellbeing of an athlete, both physical and mental, are paramount.  

Areas of work

  • Medical screenings
  • Working collaboratively with support staff and external medical consultants to optimise physical health, rehabilitation & recovery
  • Mental health wellbeing and collaboration with clinical and Sport Psychologists
  • Imaging and referrals for radiologist interventions
  • Prescribing medications

  

Our track-record

Our doctors are either consultants in Sport and Exercise Medicine or Emergency Medicine. Between them, they have supported many Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European medallists across a wide variety of sports.  

Our doctors are GMC Registered and are subject to revalidation to practice every five years.

Our team work together with all disciplines within the Sports Science and Medicine department, ensuring a holistic approach around each athlete.
