Give Your Message a Sporting Chance
Former Chief Special Adviser in the Welsh Government Matt Greenough delivering a special session on effective persuasion techniques.
About this Event
For those of us who love sport, we know the value of a competitive edge. The combination of hard work and fine margins can mean the difference between winning and losing, getting that PB, and reaching new goals. But, do we always bring this sort of thinking into our communications? Are we thinking clearly about how to make our voices heard, and really influence decision-makers? In this course you will work with a former Government adviser on effective communications – exploring how influencing and persuasion techniques can tell our sporting story to the people who need to hear it.
About the Deliverer
Matt worked as the Chief Special Adviser in the Welsh Government before starting his own communications consultancy, Words Matter Ltd. As the most senior adviser in Government, his job was to communicate complex and competing priorities internally for Ministers and the First Minister and shape external messaging for the media and stakeholders. Matt wrote all the key-note speeches for the First Minister of Wales whilst in Government, and continues to teach speechwriting, leadership techniques and media management to public sector leaders across the UK. As a trainer he leans heavily on his real-world experiences of working in a highly pressurised and political environment and works hard to ensure the courses have serious practical value to the participants.
