Boss Brewing is a multi-award-winning brewery based in Swansea. Co-founder and Sales and Marketing Director Sarah John knows a thing or two about successfully engaging with audiences as the company now sells across the world and has big plans for the future.
In October 2018, after applying to trademark its brand name, the brewery received a cease and desist letter from fashion company Hugo Boss and incurred costs of almost £10,000 defending itself in the legal battle.
In March 2020 comedian Joe Lycett changed his name by deed poll to Hugo Boss in order to support the Welsh brewery.
During such times, Sarah has relied on her ability to be creative under pressure to ride the storm and continue building her successful business.
The session will cover the following topics:

• An insight into how Boss Brewing has had to adapt (often very quickly) to challenges including Hugo Boss and Covid-19
• Examples of how and when to own the media conversation, rather than let it be dictated to you
• An understanding of how being a successful woman in a largely male-dominated sector can be positive for brands

Boss Brewing supplies major supermarkets, two Swansea centre bars, and exports their products across the world.
