What will we be doing?
We will be influencing the Welsh Government education policies that can positively impact on the Vision for Sport in Wales. We will also explore creating opportunities for young people to be active both during and beyond the school day and we’ll continue to develop resources to support teachers delivering sport and physical activity in schools.
Why is this area of work so important?
Education is the best opportunity to positively impact every child in Wales, introducing them to sport and physical activity and establishing lifelong habits. It is also a chance to frame the environment and way sport is delivered and will be a crucial part in the development of an inclusive sport system that creates enjoyable experiences for everyone.
What do we know about this area of work?
We know through the School Sport Survey that less than 50% of pupils participate in at least three occasions of sport per week. We also know that 96% of pupils would like to do more sport. We have a captive audience who are not being provided with the opportunities, or the right opportunities, to thrive.

- Leading on the discovery work looking to develop and implement a Daily Active Offer for schools.
