Sophie Ingle will become the first ever Welsh woman to represent Team GB’s football team at the Olympics. Wales’ sole representative in the squad, she will be making her Olympics debut in Tokyo 2020. 

A centurion for her country, the Wales captain now gets the opportunity to add a Gold medal to her back-to-back Super League titles she’s won with Chelsea FC.

What club did Sophie start football at?

Sophie was the only girl in the Vale Wanderers football team up until the age of 12 when she was no longer allowed to share the field with boys. Thankfully, her former manager started a girls’ team which set her on the path to the Olympics.
