Jake will get his first taste of the Olympic as he makes his Olympic debut as in the only Welsh representative in the Team GB athletics team. The 22 year old will be the first Welshman to run the 1500m since Reg Thomas back in LA 1932.

A persistent Achilles injury hindered his progression before a move to the USA brought him back to fitness and form. This helped him smash the 31-year-old Welsh 1500m record in May which secured his seat at Tokyo 2020.

What club did Jake start athletics at?

Jake started athletics after being introduced to it through Urdd sessions at school. Then, he joined the Track Rats section at Cardiff Athletics Club where he dabbled in all athletics events before turning his attention to mid-distance running as he got older.
