DEPARTMENT AND SALARY

Department – Corporate Services

Salary - Grade 9 £43,376.05 - £46,465.50 

Working Hours – 37 hours (consideration will be given to job sharing / reduced hours in line with our flexible working policy)

WHO WE ARE

Sport Wales is the national organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales.  We are the main adviser on sporting matters to the Welsh Government and are responsible for distributing National Lottery funds. We aim to not only improve the level of sports participation at grassroots level but also provide our aspiring athletes with the support required to compete successfully on the world stage.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to lead on equality, diversity, and inclusion at Sport Wales.   

This is a new role within the organisation, giving the postholder the autonomy to shape the direction of this work, both internally and in supporting the wider sports sector. You will be provided with all the support and tools to perform this crucial role effectively, with engagement from across all areas of the organisation.   This is an opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on Sport Wales and the wider sector.

The postholder will act as a focal point, championing existing and new work to ensure that equality, diversity, and inclusion are embedded within our organisational culture. 

Who you’ll work with

You will lead this key strategic priority by providing expert advice to the Sport Wales Board, the Executive and Leadership Teams, and externally with key stakeholders (including diverse communities and groups and Welsh Government).  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We are looking for candidates who have demonstrable experience of leading work on equality, diversity, and inclusion in a complex environment.  You’ll bring new ideas, a commitment to continuously learning and an ability to influence others.  Drawing on either your own lived experiences or engaging others with lived experiences to tackle barriers faced by people from diverse backgrounds.
